NIGERIA POLICE VOVINAM VIETVODAO ASSOCIATION HELD 1ST TECHNICAL WORKSHOP FOR COACHES AND REFEREES FOR THE PREPARATION OF 15TH BIENNIAL POLICE GAMES (BIPOGA) "ASABA 2026"

 NIGERIA POLICE VOVINAM VIETVODAO ASSOCIATION HELD 1ST TECHNICAL WORKSHOP FOR COACHES AND REFEREES

As part of preparations for the forthcoming 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA ASABA 2026)the Nigeria Police Vovinam Vietvodao Association (NPVVA) under the auspices of the Executive Chairman, ACP Olawoye Ezekiel Olubunmi Esq psc, who is also the Vice President, Nigeria Vovinam Vietvodao Federation (NVVF) held a two(2)-day strategic Technical Workshop for Police Coaches and Referees from Friday 23rd to 24th January, 2026. NPF Vovinam Vietvodao Zonal Coordinators, Coaches and Referees from various Zonal Command Headquarters arrived at the Police Sports Secretariat Annex, PCI, Lagos for the above highlighted program on Thursday 22nd January, 2026 for the workshop designated to build human capacity for Vovinam Vietvodao sport at the said Games, scheduled to hold from 14th to 21st February, 2026 in Asaba Delta State.

The two (2) day strategic Technical Workshop was anchored by the Nigeria Vovinam Vietvodao Federation (NVVF) President, GM Adelusi Ojo (a.k.a. Professor of Martial Arts). In attendance, there were Senior Police officers of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Abubakar Yakubu psc - the Force Sports Secretary, ably represented by DSP Irene Anetor; ACP Olawoye Ezekiel Olubunmi Esq. psc.- Vice President NVVF cum Chairman, NPVVA; SP Adenekan Lukman - Vice Chairman, NPVVA; SP Mariam Adedun - Sports Officer, PCI; ASP Oyinbo Mary - Vice Chairman, Nigeria Police Karate Association; ASP. Abdulkareem Rasheedat - Sports Officer, Kwara State Police Command Hqtrs, ASP. Ogundiran Akinbukola - Asst. Secretary General NVVF cum Secretary, NPVVA, alongside other members of NPF/NPVVA.


During the strategic Technical Workshop, the Federation President and Secretary General of the Nigeria Vovinam Vietvodao Federation (NVVF), GrandMaster Adelusi Ojo and Master Obaremi Oladele,  respectively, taught the participants, in details about the application of practical skills and modified rules and regulations as amended and codified by the World Vovinam Vietvodao Federation (WVVF). 

In view of the foregoing, at the tail end of the workshop, Inspr. Omache David - Asst. National Coach cum Headcoach of Nigeria Police Vovinam Vietvodao Association and other Zonal Coaches took the centre stage majestically and demonstrated Vovinam Vietvodao steps and moves, while the Referees were given a brief examinations to test their levels of intelligent quotient and rate of assimilation/retentive memories.

ACP Olawoye Ezekiel Olubunmi Esq. psc., in his closing remarks, thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun PhD NPM and his Management Team, Chairman, Force Sports Planning Committee, AIG FOM Pam Joseph psc, Force Director of Sports, CP Osifo T. Emefile psc and other members of the Force Sports Planning Committee for their spirit of sportsmanship and total supports from the time immemorial towards the development of Sports both at the national and international level. He also heaped praises on the Nigeria Vovinam Vietvodao Federation (NVVF), AFRICAN VOVINAM VIETVODAO FEDERATION (AVVF) & WORLD VOVINAM VIETVODAO FEDERATION (WVVF) for their recognition and technical supports rendering at all times to further develop and promote Vovinam Vietvodao sport in African/Nigerian communities.


Meanwhile, our hardworking, amiable and result oriented Association Chairman (a.k.a. talk na do Sports Administrator per excellence), ACP Olawoye Ezekiel Olubunmi Esq psc stated and promised that other vital developmental programs will be unfolded soon to further develop and promote the beautiful Vovinam Vietvodao sport in our communities and schools. He then advised the participants to hit the ground running and intensify the training of their Athletes and instill the discipline and knowledge acquired into them, adequately so as to record success stories and share glorious moments at the upcoming 15th BIPOGA "ASABA 2026".
